Find chains containing given RIC?

We want to feed some instruments using EMA. Some instruments are looks similar so we suspect them to be member of some chains. How to seek for a chains having given RIC? If we able to identify the chain holding all those instruments, we would prefer to subscribe to chain instead of few selected instrument RICs we need. Sample of a RIC: USS3L1MF1Y=TWEB Is there some way using website, or EMA, or whatever to find chains that providing an instrument?

Hi @maksym.radionov

If a colleague in your organisation has our desktop application Eikon on Workspace, then that could assist in identifying chains e.g. if I search in Workspace for USS3L1MF1Y=TWEB, it shows the RIC USS3L1MF=TWEB on the overview page - which turns out to be a Chain RIC containing USS3L1MF1Y=TWEB.

If you do not have access to Workspace or Eikon, I recommend you create a Content type ticket and provide them with a list of your RICs - they should then be able to help you identify any related Chain RICs. When raising the Content ticket I would avoid mentioning APIs - as this could result in you being referred back to the forum.

This forum is aimed at answering "how to" types of questions about using Refinitiv APIs and the moderators are not Content/Data specialists. The Refinitiv Real-time feeds carry over 80million RICs from 10,000+ source - and we have Content specialists covering specific content sets.

@umer.nalla Thank you for explanation, one last piece thought, as I have no access to Eikon, if there is EMA API corresponding to that search? Like some consumer request using Elektron that returns result of search?

Hi @maksym.radionov

EMA is designed for consuming and publishing streaming data and requires you to know the RIC code of the items you want to consume. It does not have any such search functionality - hence my recommendation that you contact the Content team who can assist you further.

Hi @maksym.radionov

We do have a RESTful Symbology API and Search API on our Refinitiv Data Platform - which may be able to yield the information you required - but this is outside of EMA and would also require a separate licence +fee to use.

If you are interested in accessing the above APIs, please reach out to your Refinitv account team and they could arrange a demo/trial for you to explore and see if could fulfil your requirements.

Thanks, the info above is comprehensive.

For completeness, I will leave here an additional piece of reply on EMA question that I got from another source:

"I don’t think there is a generic procedure to find the chain for the RIC in question for the MM content (for Bonds its usually listed on FID 801 of the RIC) and its something we have taken up with the data modelling group already. "
