Generating an Eikon Python API

I am trying to install a Eikon Python API on my Ubuntu Machine. I tried generating the App Key on the Web Browser but it does not work. In the instructions it says I need the Eikon Desktop Application in order to do this. So I tried Virtual Box Windows to install the Eikon Applicaton to generate an App Key. I cannot install the Eikon Application though. What can I do?

@j.rasch to access the Eikon Data API you need to install the Eikon Desktop into a windows environment as it requires the proxy to access the backend which is not available in the browser based version. One other option from the browser based version is to use our CodeBook app (type CodeBook into the Eikon Search bar) - this will launch our hosted Python Scripting environment. I have sent you an email.
