EIKON API content guide

Hello,

Is there an EIKON DATA API content guide that gives you the available data items to query, with their definitions? Looking at the Excel Data Item Browser, there is for example no definition of the codes for the variable "Asset Category Code".

Thank you.

Hi @dpi.eco thanks for your question. In terms of content navigation the best experience is the Data Item Browser (type DIB in Eikon Search bar). From the screenshot below you can see the fields are there with descriptions and parameters.

If you needed other more involved details such as how fields are calculated - what things are included and excluded for example - you always can raise a question to the content helpdesk who are best placed to assist you further.

Out of interest - what other pieces of information would you expect to be in the DIB to help you navigate and find the right content (apart from all available values - though this might be difficult to achieve with all fields)? We are redesigning the experience now - could I reach out to you separately to take your feedback?

I hope this can help.

Hi @jason.ramchandani. Thank you very much for this very useful hint and the referral to the content helpdesk.

I think for categorical variables such as Asset Category Code, it would be very helpful to have a list of possible values, and their definitions, in the Data Item Browser. Please feel free to reach out to me separately.
