what's the difference between 2 fields?
what's the difference between 2 fields?
This content question is best directed to Refinitiv Helpdesk. I opened service case #07011780 on your behalf. Someone from the Helpdesk will get back to you with the answer.
Here's the answer provided by the Helpdesk:
"TR.RIC returns the Exchange specific RIC. TR.RIC is the field to pull only the primary RIC for the instrument if identifiers like ISIN, CUSIP etc are used. However, if a RIC is used in the formula, it will just give the same RIC and not the primary RIC. TR.RICCode returns the Primary RIC or Consolidated RIC. If there is no consolidated, both fields TR.RIC and TR.RICCode is the same."
There's no straight answer to this question. Depending on the criteria used in the search expression RSearch may return either one, neither or both. Technically the search service behind RSearch and is a completely different system from the one returning TR.RIC and TR.RICCode fields.
